Overview
Sometimes a product doesn’t come with its own image, and you don’t want your shoppers staring at a blank space. A default product image saves the day. It steps in whenever a product has no dedicated photo, keeping your store looking neat and consistent.
Plus, you’re not limited to product images, you can set default visuals for folders, banners, and backgrounds too.
Steps to Set the Default Product Image
1. Head to the Default Images Page
Go to: 👉 System → Default Images
You’ll land on a page where you can manage all fallback visuals for your store.
2. Upload the Default Product Image
Under “Default Item Image,” upload the image you want to use as your universal fallback.
Once uploaded, this image will automatically appear for any product that doesn’t have its own image.
3. Explore Additional Default Image Options
On the same page, you can set other default images as well:
- Default Folder Image: shows up if a folder has no custom image.
- Default Banner Image: keep in mind this one has a fixed size limit: 970 x 97 pixels.
- Default Background Image: perfect for keeping layouts clean when no background is defined.
Conclusion
Setting a default product image gives your store a polished look, even when some items are missing photos. Once you upload the defaults, the system takes care of the rest automatically. If you ever want to swap them out, just repeat the same steps.
